FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 1, 2008
Provo, Utah
Today representatives from team UtahMountainBiking.com and team Mad Dog announced they will merge to form team Utah Mad Mountain Dog Biking. The newly formed team will debut at the next Intermountain Cup race, the Cholla Challenge.
"We tasted the sweetness of the team championship in 2006 and we want more. But the Revolution juggernaut is in our way. This merger will create the team we need to take them on. And we are both Utah County teams so that gave us something in common." said Bruce Argyle, captain of the former UtahMountainBiking.com team.
Ryan Washburn from Mad Dog said, "It's been too long since we've been the top dog, but the merger with UMB will change that. We bring more Pros and Experts, they bring the kids - the combination will be unstoppable."
"It's lame that Mad Dog and UMB can't stand on their own. Instead they feel they have to gang up to attempt to challenge Revolution. But even with this merger, we're not worried. We've added more racers to our team this year to give us even better coverage of all the categories. You'll see Revolution take the championship again in 2008 - you can take that to the bank" said Revolution team captain Bob Saffell.
A team meeting for Utah Mad Mountain Dog Biking will be held Thursday evening to discuss goals, logistics and strategy; and allow team members to get acquainted. New jerseys will be distributed at the meeting. Bruce Argyle denied that a Revolution effigy will serve as a pinata and then burned.

Why couldn't this announcement have come earlier in the year? I would never have joined Revolution had I known this was in the works. Talk about a SWEET jersey! I thought Revolution's kit was good looking but dang, that jersey is fantastic.
hehe...
April 1 does not come earlier in the year Mark :)
UPDATE: The Thursday night meeting will be held at the teams 3rd sponsor, McDonalds!
