Woke up to snow this morning. Ryan, stay in Hawaii. I think we got more snow down here in Orem than JE did in SLC. Here's my daughter getting snow to eat.
This evening the UTRider family came over for sushi. I demonstrated the basic technique (not that I'm very good) and then we all built and ate sushi (and gyoza) until we were full. I made good on my promise to make some weird sushi - I present the hot dog and Cheetos roll with ketchup dipping sauce:
Fun experiment, but I won't be making this one again. Not spit-it-out bad, but definitely not good.

Haha, love the hot dog/cheetos roll. Ketchup is a nice addition.
Oh. My. God.
I'm far from a sushi purist but that... that vile abomination, that perverse, evil, foul culinary disaster, that festering boil of wrongness... I'm just stunned, Kris. Please tell me nobody actually ate it. Even if you have to lie, just tell me nobody ate it so I can sleep tonight without awaking in screaming terror.
// we got several inches up here in the SLC benches, enough to make a decent snowman.
My daughter's favorite food is sushi, so a couple years ago we made it for her birthday dinner. My son is not such a big fan, so we made hot dog rolls for him. Skipped the cheetos and included rice, though. He just pulled the hot dogs out and ate them plan.
Hot dogs aren't too far from Spam and Spam Musabi is a popular item in Hawaii. I've had it, and it's quite good.
Kvigor and other food purists, just remember that the latest culinary innovation is just a few degrees away from a train wreck along the lines of hot dogs and cheetos wrapped in seaweed. The chefs just don't let the real disasters out of the kitchen.
KVigor, I apologize for offending your culinary sensibility. I just had to try something weird. Now you may question why I had publish something so abominable, simple: shock value. Just following in the well-worn path of yellow journalism.
mark, UTRider was going to bring some SPAM, but he forgot. Next time.
To help cleanse the palet, here are the other sushi ingredients: Ahi Tuna, tempura shrimp, krab (can't afford crab), avocado, cucumber, cream cheese and green onions (try it!).
I'm with kvigor. But then again, you already knew that.
